Marshall & Jefferson Diversity Festival | 4/20

4/8/2018 10:57 am

Our annual Marshall & Jefferson Schools' Diversity Festival celebrates the diversity in people, music, and arts. It will take place Friday, April 20th in  Marshall School's Cafetorium from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Come and see the multi-cultural richness of our community! Interested in sharing culture? Sign up below.

There will be an array of fun and culture-related activities planned for the whole family, arts and crafts, musical acts, art and — of course — lots of delicious food representing the diversity of our school including:

Linguopia | Swivel those hips, learn to turn, shake that body with Linguopia. Salsa instructors Chari and Maria will teach you all about Latin dancing. This is aimed at kids but don't be afraid to take part and dance.

LaChaney's Dance & Music School | Maplewood-based dancers from LaChaney's Dance School will be electrifying the school with a hip hop performance that us sure to bring down the house.

Aum Dance Creation | Enjoy the rich beauty of Indian dance and culture. Dancers from Aum Dance Creation will be showing off their Bollywood moves popularized in Hollywood movies.

SOMA Salsa Rueda | Be transported to the warm tropical island of Cuba with SOMA Salsa Rueda, a South Orange-based salsa group that will shake it up and rock the house. The dancers will perform Cuban salsa, and infuse some Latin rhythms into the SOMA community. Can you feel the beat?
