MUSIC PROGRAM 

The Bolden School Elementary Music Program strives to give a variety of musical experiences to every student. In General Music class students learn the basics of rhythm, melody, harmony, sight reading, music theory, composition and performance through singing, movement and in the playing of instruments. 

When music is sustained throughout the elementary years, children continue to learn better through the clear connections between music and other areas of study.

Bolden School is proud to offer a high-quality music program to all students as part of the school's core curriculum. The program includes music class participation, instruction time, access to musical instruments, and concerts.

• 3rd and 4th Grade students participate in a weekly 50-minute General Music class.
• 5th Grade students continue General Music as well as advanced Chorus, Band or Orchestra using musical instruments.

Students learn to express their own creativity through their experiences in the music classroom, and they share those experiences in public concerts throughout the school year. More information will be provided as events are confirmed.

PTA SUPPORTS MUSIC PROGRAMS

PTA fundraising efforts support the school's budget by directly funding music programs, additional curriculum tools, cultural assemblies, artists-in-residence, and other enhancements that make Bolden School special.
