NJSLA Testing Dates

3/30/2022 10:21 am

In April/May, Jefferson will administer the NJSLA Assessment. The NJSLA Assessment is a standardized state assessment that stands for New Jersey Student Learning Assessment. The assessment is electronic and will be administered to students in their classrooms using their district issued chromebooks.  Jefferson’s testing dates are listed to the left. The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has randomly selected SOMSD to participate in the English Language Arts (ELA) Field Test.  This is reflected in the schedule with the addition of a third ELA assessment.  Please note that make-up testing will take place during the week of 5/23/2022.

You can help your child be successful during each day of testing by ensuring that they get a good night’s sleep each night, eat a healthy breakfast, and get to school on time.  Please make every effort to schedule appointments for your child, (doctor, dentist, etc.) that do not conflict with the testing schedule.  We plan to begin testing promptly at 8:20am.  If your child arrives after 8:20 am, they will be withheld from entering their classroom until testing is complete and this will result in make-up testing for your child.  Cell phones and smart watches will be collected during testing.  We strongly encourage you to keep your child’s cell phone and/or smart watch  at home during testing unless it is absolutely necessary that they bring it to school.
